Couldn’t Stop, Didn’t Stop

If you haven’t read this post, then do so first. Or don’t, lol. Either way, you’ll get the point.

I failed, and I failed hard.

It didn’t take long for my genuine freaking plan to stop buying yarn, to turn into a shit show. lol. Part of it was the medicine malfunction (retail therapy is real, people!), but I know it was also my lack of self control, as well as so many irresistible pretties. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Now, for the goodies…

Gamer Crafting is rad, mmkay? Thank you, Angie, for the freebie mini skein! โค All of these gorgeous skeins are just YUM.

Expression Fiber Arts keeps on pulling me back in; I LOVE it! I break my self-imposed yarn bans most often with EFA yarn, and I’m not the slighest bit ashamed. How about those pins?! I’m in love. ๐Ÿ’ž

My first Virtual Yarns order blew my mind. It shall be the perfect beginner cables project!

JPEG_20180418_222417_1190722653

GeoMinimalist had exactly what I was looking for! This was an “I love me” gift for myself.

JPEG_20180418_222717_-1142778375

Craftsy kits, FTW! The top one is a beginner brioche kit (I didn’t realize the words were covered until later, lol), the hat kit is just WOW, and the cowl kit was pretty much made for me, for a few reasons! ๐Ÿ˜‰

JPEG_20180418_223517_749419027

GrayVervain had the perfect stand for my glass sphere! I love the Moon, and mandalas, so the two together? HELL YES!

JPEG_20180418_224040_1793554133

My EnjoyTheTraffic moon phases tote is perfection. That inner pocket makes it even more rad!

The Sheepyshire brought me back yet again, with some beyond amazing colorways, shiny stitch markers, and an incredible rainbow set!

My first ever HandDrawnYarn yarn order rendered me speechless! I’ll be turning these beauties into their “Chasing Unicorns” shawl and “Unicorn Footprints” hat patterns.

JPEG_20180418_230045_55721356

TeeTurtle is so full of fun and cute stuff! The unicorn stuffy turns inside out, and that’s a Ravenclaw kiki!

JPEG_20180418_230216_-253224342

I’ve always adored Rebecca’s Room stitch markers, and, as with the others I’ve bought from this lovely shop, these stunning pieces were right up my alley! I got a heart to symbolize each of my Family members (Critters included, obvi), and the Mum set is just so pretty and clearly quite fitting for me! ๐Ÿ˜

JPEG_20180418_230415_156174404

How about these MarkMyStitches pretties?! This was my first purchase; each stitch marker set came with a freebie marker, and the cute colors and unicorns made me feel young again.

JPEG_20180420_094309_2019187626

Book Soup had the perfect Mother’s Day gift for yours truly! This book is badass like whoa, and the perks made it so personal and fun!

JPEG_20180420_100008_1246082989

YarnBox knows I can’t help myself – to not just the monthly boxes of squishy yarns, but to their sale yarn, as well! I finally got a Luxe box, too, so I’m pretty set for now.

KayNoxx snagged me with her non-snagging BB-8 stitch markers! ๐Ÿ˜ They’re just darling, and the drawing on my receipt is awesome!

JPEG_20180420_100823_-1730016650

BeachBumYarn has some of the most incredible colorways! I’d never purchased from this shop before, but I saw some suggested yarn of theirs on Etsy, found these vibrant pretties, and had to have them.

JPEG_20180420_101459_-1187507805

It’d been a long time since I’d bought from Schibot Garne, but it wasn’t because I’m not absolutely obsessed with their yarn! These beauties will be used in their pattern collection called “Winter is Coming,” found here.

JPEG_20180420_103101_395636568

fireflynotes won me over with the most dainty and rad cat heads and stars stitch markers! The pin was also irresistible, for obvious reasons.

JPEG_20180420_103308_-56688332

Local Yarn Store Day was a hit! My Son and I enjoyed being able to participate in this super rad event, and got some yarn on sale as a result! Our LYS is wonderful, and the owner is even more so; she was ecstatic to see us (mainly BatKid, hehe) there, and even gave us those cute rainbow markers for free! The Concentric yarns were something I’d been drooling over for a long time (because rainbow, obvi), so it was the perfect day to finally buy them. ๐Ÿ˜†

JPEG_20180422_100233_-1294114863

YarnPop went above and beyond with this purchase! They’d had a closeout sale on certain bags with particular fabric patterns, so I jumped at the chance to get some. However, one of the ones I chose ended up being sold out (I guess it simultaneously happened when I ordered, lol). I found out because the wonderful company reached out to me, along with an offer to replace it, for the same price, with one of their bigger and more expensive bags. I was blown away at the extremely generous solution, and graciously accepted. That, my friends, is how I ended up with the elephant bag! They are one of my top five favorite animals, so I was totally okay with not getting the bag I’d originally chosen. Thank you, YarnPop!

JPEG_20180426_090906_-969994535

Midknit Cravings created the most incredible colorway, for the most amazing cause. I empathized 10,000% with the meaning behind the color choices and reasons they were included (Jaedyn explains it on her podcast, found here), and because of that and the cause, I had to get a couple.

JPEG_20180426_091039_1981758289

Yarn Cafe Creations and WipsOnSticksFiberCo came together for the same cause, and made the greatest set of yarn and markers. Two was better than one, again, but obviously not just because I love yarn.

JPEG_20180426_091426_-822743782

My first SewHappyCreative order was nothing short of perfection. I found two of my many favorite things – Autumn and sunflowers – in this lovely shop, and it just was not an option to leave them there. ha!

JPEG_20180506_100021_-1146066399

Bana&Bean did it again! Never have I purchased a kit that included a project bag plus other rad things, so I was over the moon when Amber posted this rad The Wizard of Oz bag. I’m not, like, a “super fan of The Wizard of Oz, but I have loved it since I was a youngin’, and my Men also love it…so, yeah, I couldn’t resist this beautiful set! I also couldn’t resist this wicked pretty sunflowers bag, despite having just bought a different one (as mentioned above). They’re my favorite flowers, what can I say?

*puts on a serious face* I won’t be buying yarn for a very, Very, VERY long time. Not only have I run out of room, but homeowner (and vehicle owner and Pet Guardian) life is full of surprises. Priorities first, but also? I barely craft these days! Why on earth would I get more yarn, when it’s not even being used? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Now, go visit each of these shops/websites, treat yourself, and show me what you got. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Can Stop, Will Stop

Before I’d taken an unplanned self-care break from social media in mid-July, I’d post all of the awesome yarn I’d order and receive, basically as soon as I’d get it. When I came back from my nearly three month hiatus, I decided I’d stop posting yarn purchases, not because I don’t want to give the sellers shoutouts, but because I don’t want anyone to feel like I’m shoving it all in their face (which is never my intention, FYI). I know not everyone can just add to their stash like I have over these past few years, and I don’t want to come off as a total bitch when I post about how much I buy. Now, I won’t be buying anymore for a long time – due to personal and financial reasons – but I do want to share what I did buy for the rest of 2017, here. This way, people can choose to look, or choose not to – instead of it just popping up in their instagram feed. So, here’s my warning: >>>Don’t continue reading if you do not wish to see what I’d bought!<<< It’s mostly yarn, sure, but also some other rad items (Orphan Black stuffs, books, and a wicked rad jacket – just to name a few). Now that I’ve covered all of that, if you’re curious – read on!

Two gorgeous orders from TheSheepyshire!
Top photo set: Speckled Sock Yarn Superwash Merino Nylon Fingering Weight – Sour Apple; Pixie Sock Yarn Superwash Merino-Nylon-Stellina Fingering Weight – Hocus Pocus; Speckled Sock Yarn Superwash Merino Nylon Fingering Weight – Punisher; Speckled Sock Yarn Superwash Merino Nylon Fingering Weight – Pumpkin Latte; Sock Stitch Markers – No Snag Set of 6 Mini Rainbow; Sock Stitch Markers – No Snag Set of 6 Volcanic Lava.
Bottom photo set: Super Squishy Worsted Superwash Merino Hand Dyed – London Fog, and Staple Sock Yarn Superwash Merino Nylon Fingering Weight – Stolen Dance.
I literally made a plan to not buy yarn before the big order, but boy, was I happy to break yet another yarn ban to snag these pretties! ๐Ÿ˜›

Two stunning shawl pins from CraftyFlutterbyC! These scream “AJ!” like whoa. ๐Ÿ˜› Now I just need some shawls, so I can use them! I have one in hibernation, and a few planned, so it’ll be awhile, ha.

JPEG_20180110_091200_184496484

Some of the raddest pins I’ve ever bought, from AuberginenART! I love the little sweet that came with my order, and can’t wait to find the perfect spots for these awesome pins!

JPEG_20180110_091806_394075610

Another fabulous wedge bag from BanaAndBean! I own a few others, but this one…this one is my absolute favorite. It is Harry Potter, after all! The stitch markers are so me (a few of my obsessions, hehe), so of course I couldn’t resist snatching up some! The little treats are much appreciated!

JPEG_20180110_094707_-63071763

Adventure Time-themed yarn from GamerCrafting! I have yet to see the show, but this Lady Rainicorn yarn was right up my rainbow-loving alley! Isn’t it divine? โค

I also purchased a wicked cool crochet pattern from YarnandThyme! It’s called the Crystal Visions Crochet Vest, and I cannot wait to make it someday. It’s no longer available in her shop (I just discovered that today while attempting to link it), so I’m not including the seller’s photo for that reason.

During Shark Week, I’d learned about Lokai bracelets! I ended up placing a couple more orders later on, as well. These bracelets each have a special meaning and love behind them, and not all of them are mine; BatKid and Hubs also have a shark one, and I gave BatKid the yellow one, since I knew He’d love it. ๐Ÿ˜€ Check out the Lokai store!

Check out this super sweet glow-in-the-dark Batman ring! I can’t remember where in the hell I got it, but it was a good deal and glows so bright! Not to mention, it’s perfect for this ol’ BatMom! ๐Ÿ˜‰

JPEG_20180110_111442_-285022189

Oh, Orphan Black – how I love thee! If you know me, you know I’ve been obsessed with this show from the very first preview – before it even premiered in 2013. I’d gotten this book on pre-order as soon as I’d seen it posted on Twitter; it arrived earlier than expected, and I am soooo in love! I ordered it through Amazon, and you should, too! The fact that the real Cosima is involved, makes it that much better. ๐Ÿ˜€

JPEG_20180110_111848_2073398117

How about these Wevez Sari Skirts?! They come in completely random, surprise patterns – and I LOVE THEM ALL! I scored them on Amazon for a damn good price.

JPEG_20180110_112307_-1112587575

I got my very own Naomi Karate CD! She’s a lovely and talented artist from Idaho, and her music is soooo chill, y’all. Check out her BandCamp site here!

JPEG_20180110_112525_91988647

Now for the embarrassing part of this post: I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE WRAPPED YARN IS, NOR CAN I FIND IT IN MY HOUSE! I’m going positively bonkers trying to think of where it can be, and from whom I bought it. I’ve looked everywhere for the yarn, and for the transaction – but they both cease to exist. However, the unwrapped yarn was from a Craftsy kit, for the Greenlee Cowl. It’s a gorgeous cowl, and one I hope to make sooner rather than later!

JPEG_20180110_113016_391163900

I splurged on Expression Fiber Arts kits and singles! I’d never gotten a kit before these ones, but the September and October Insider’s Yarn Clubs were impossible to resist! I’ve been into the 1950s since I can remember, so I snagged two of those Decades kits, as well as a skein of Bright Foliage on Dewy DK. Before I’d gotten October’s Halloween-y kit goodies, I’d gotten three skeins of Silent Moon on DK, which I plan to use for a beanie and scarf set for yours truly. October’s order was the Skeleton kit, as well as a skein of the only past Yarn Club colorway to have ever been brought back – The Raven. If you haven’t gotten any of Chandi and Tim’s yarn, I am here to tell you YOU SIMPLY MUST. I can’t get enough of the yum!

Check out the SillySheepDesigns amazingness below! Wanda is one of the very few people online whom I can call a friend, and she’s my favorite dyer, spinner, and crafter! I’d ordered her last skeins of “Ticket to Halloween Town” and “Fireside Pumpkin,” as well as a set of Trick or Treat Trio: Vintage-Inspired Halloween Bell Stitch Markers. The next day, I’d also ordered her Hocus Pocus! Halloween Inspired Pumpkin and Crystal Stitch Markers, and since she was going to ship it all together, she asked if I wanted a refund on the shipping for the second order, or more stitch markers. Of course, I opted for more stitch markers, ’cause HOLY WOW I WANT ALL THE THINGS. She surprised me with the perfect ones, as well as some yummy treats! Thank you so much, lovely! You know me well! Not long before Halloween, I’d ordered her incredible handspun Thick n’ Thin “All Hallows’ Eve” yarn, as well as a From the Pumpkin Patch – Retro Inspired Pumpkin Single Stitch Marker – and she spoiled me again with more tasty Halloween treats! Endless gratitude here, for sure. โค

I now own the perfect jacket. I’m pretty picky when it comes to cold weather clothes, but when I spotted this beautiful Disney villains-themed jacket on Torrid, I knew I had to have it. I even got a $25 discount on it! I could only try it on a couple of times before I could actually wear it, as it was still much too warm for it, but when I finally did get to wear it, I paired it with the best shirt ever, which I’d gotten around the same time! It was a special, limited time only Orphan Black design, and I am head over heels with my new favorite tee. Photo credit: BatKid! He’s so good at taking pictures. ๐Ÿ˜€

Who can resist free knitting needles?! Back when I was still actively using Facebook (I officially gave it up on New Year’s Day, not for a resolution, but because I finally had had enough of that narcissistic site), I saw one of those suggested ads they constantly throw at you. This time, though, it was something in which I was actually interested! It was a special deal on two different lengths of circular knitting needles, totally free, and you just had to pay shipping. It was a less than $30 order, arrived fairly quickly from China, and they work wonderfully! I’m quite pleased with them, and they’ve definitely saved Hubs some money. ๐Ÿ˜‰

JPEG_20180110_114359_-1087723299

Jackson Galaxy recently came out with a new book, Total Cat Mojo. I talked about it in my previous post, 2017, so I’ll be copying and pasting what I said there, into here…because I’m lazy. ha! Let the C&P commence in 3…2…1… Tuesday was Halloween! My Total Cat Mojo book arrived, which I’d pre-ordered as soon as Jackson Galaxy had posted about it on Twitter; upon pre-ordering, I was able to pick a shelter to whom they’d send a free copy, and would also receive a card as a gift at a later date. It was a pretty sweet deal!

JPEG_20180110_114649_677486309

I wanted a Halloween project bag, and found the perfect one, by ThreeByTheSeaDesigns. For obvious reasons, my Son is in love with this bag, and the zipper pull is SO ME, y’all! The treats and extra are awesome, and appreciated!

JPEG_20180110_115207_-844760667

KnitPicks had a big sale not too long ago! Unfortunately, a lot of good stuff disappeared before my eyes as I shopped, but I still managed to find some AJ-friendly stuffs. The yarn will become a cowl someday, and is even more gorgeous in person. Obviously, I’m a cat person, so 9 Lives is meant for me…and sock yarn is the yarn I buy most, and usually want to turn into shawls, so Sock Yarn Shawls is just more perfection!

JPEG_20180110_120130_-918940083

Amazon haul, say whaaaat! Despite Orphan Black being my all-time favorite show in the history of EVER, it took me way too long to get the fifth season once the show ended (*cries*). However, I now own the entire series on blu-ray, as well as all the books that go with The Friday Night Knitting Club. These were my Christmas presents, and they’re Kiki T approved. ๐Ÿ˜›

JPEG_20180110_120546_865991204

I clearly went out with a bang as far as ordering my last yarn goes, and I’m actually fine with not buying anymore for as long as necessary. I really do collect it, so I’m set for a long ass time, lmao. I’m content with all my pretties, and look forward to making all the things with them!
